It is unlikely she was born in Michigan, as she was baptised in Poughkeepsie.

I could not find proof that Peter Van De Bogart was the father. Her mother was nine years old when she gave birth. More research is needed. I've spent a lot of time trying to work out the connection with the parents.

There is something wrong, here. I have found no marriage record for Peter and Hannah. This mysterious "memory" may shed light on the situation: https://www.familysearch.org/photos/artifacts/139487422. If so, mother "Hannah" is an entirely different person, born 1770, which would make more sense. It certainly needs a lot more research. The Van Kleeks and Van der Bogerts are a real tangle. This might be the alternative mother: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Van_Kleeck-72 , or this one: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/VanKleeck-11 , possibly a twin?, same birth year.

This would make sense of the names and baptisms of their first two daughters, with Annatje named for her maternal grandmother, and sopnsored by her and her husband, and Catharina, named for her paternal grandmother, and sponsored by her and her husband, as seen in the memory. I think Van Kleeck-72 and VanKleeck-11 are probably the same person, as the christening record I've attached to VanKleeck-11 shows. Sadly I have only access to Family Search computer printouts for New Hackensack records, and these have been shown to be incomplete, with many missing records.

Dear Mark,

I’ve been working two days on this puzzle and think I’m getting close. Which branch of the family are you most interested in? My ancestor is Elinor Van Kleeck, daughter of Johannes Van Kleeck 1728 -1761 and Rachel Van den Bogart 1725 -1804. Her second husband, David Shook is my ancestor. I have a few genealogy sheets for the Kleeck and Van den Bogart families, similar to the link you provided. More popped up on Ancestry today. The dates are not accurate, but I’m using as a guide like I do with Ancestry trees. My Ancestry tree has grown a great deal as I have been trying to untangle the families. The Parmentier family is also in the mix! When I think I’ve done as much as I can, may I email you with the changes so that you can verify before changing? It appears that the father is correct, but I have an alternative mother. I have also sent a note to the other profile manager.

Sincerely, Sharon Danbrook

Hi Sharon, my ancestor is her sister, Anna, Van_de_Bogert-10, who married John Pawling Ostrom, and later John Dingman. I've had similar problems with Van Kleeks, in particular. Thank you for your help. I did trace a few Van Kleek wills, and attached them to their presumed profiles, and one Van der Bogert, but not the ones that would shed light on this couple.

Of course you can email me. It is wonderful to have help, when trying to untangle profiles.

I adopted the profile, one of the ones you sent me. It turned ou that she was the missing (correct) mother who was buried at Palenville, Greene, N.Y. She is Van Kleeck-72, born Antonette Barentse Van Kleeck. I still need to add sources, but I am content that she fits. The Hannah in error is the daughter of Myndert VK and married Leonard Davis- 97984 (1774 -1833). He already had a profile. I'm sick of seeing the names Peter, Myndert, Hannah, Barent and a lot of others plus the variations on these names. LOL

But, I do love a good puzzle. To email direct, I need your email.

Van de Bogart-9 and Van de Bogert-11 appear to represent the same person because: Same person. Last name at birth is same on both profiles.

fathers need to be merged, too.
